Utrecht Central Station is the largest train station in the Netherlands,  and the most important railroad junction in the country. All Dutch railroad lines have Utrecht as their central point so the station has many thousands of travelers every day. Adjacent to the station is Hoog Catharijne, a large indoor shopping center. Every day Utrecht Central Station has over 170,000 travelers.

In addition, the following international trains depart and arrive at Utrecht Centraal:

• TGV (Brussels, Paris, Lyon, Strasbourg, Bordeaux)
• City Night Line (several cities in Europe)
• Intercity Antwerp/Brussels
• ICE International (Germany and Switzerland)

• Nightjet (München, Wenen, Zürich, Basel & Innsbruck)

Amsterdam Airport Schiphol offers excellent connections for local, regional and international airports. Trains to the city center of Utrecht departs every 15 minutes from Schiphol Airport and only take about 30 minutes. Getting to Utrecht is therefore extremely easy even if you arrive by plane.

Utrecht has a compact historic center which is really easy to navigate by bike or on foot. However, Utrecht does have sufficient and efficient bus connections throughout the city and region and also offers an express tram/streetcar to Utrecht Science Park (from Utrecht Central Station only 12 minutes). Buying a ticket is extremely easy, since visitors can just check in and out with their contactless debit or credit card in trains, buses and streetcars.

For a lot of countries visa-free travel to the Netherlands is possible. Apart from all EU-countries, this is also the case for a couple of other countries such as Israel and the United Kingdom. For all participants that do require a visa, we will make sure to provide invitation letters well in advance and to assist you with anything else you might need to obtain a visa.
